ZDVolt announced today the completion of its new 1100kV Ultra-High Voltage Test Laboratory, representing a significant expansion of the company’s testing capabilities and a major milestone in its commitment to quality assurance.

The new laboratory, located at ZDVolt’s manufacturing campus in Shanghai, is equipped with state-of-the-art test equipment capable of performing full dielectric testing on transformer bushings rated up to 1100 kV AC. This includes lightning impulse testing up to 2400 kV peak, switching impulse testing, and power frequency withstand testing.

“This investment reflects our commitment to providing our customers with products that meet the highest international quality standards,” said the company’s Chief Technology Officer. “With this facility, we can now perform complete type testing in-house for our entire product range, including the ultra-high voltage bushings increasingly demanded by modern transmission grids.”

The laboratory has been designed to meet ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation requirements and features advanced partial discharge measurement systems with sensitivity below 5 pC. Construction of the facility began in early 2024, with commissioning and validation completed in the fourth quarter of 2025.
